I’m Gabriela Tripp…

You can call me Gaby. I’m a birth and postpartum doula and photographer.

I’ve been fascinated by pregnancy and birth for as long as I can remember. As a kid, I was always wondering how a baby could grow inside someone’s body and how it all worked. I didn’t have the words for it then, but looking back, it makes sense that I ended up here.

After high school, I knew I wanted to work in a way that involved caring for people. I studied Biomedical Sciences in Brazil, and after moving to the U.S. in 2019, I worked as an au pair and then a nanny.

Being so close to families during that time is what first exposed me to the role of a doula, and how much of a difference that kind of support can make.

Once I decided to try it, everything clicked. During training, all those early questions came back, and I wanted to understand everything I could.

The first time I supported a birth, I knew this was what I wanted to do.

There’s something about being in that space, supporting a family as they meet their baby, that just feels right to me. Being able to document those moments as they happen is an extension of that, capturing what you might not notice in the moment, but can come back to later.

I can’t imagine doing anything else.
